Tenchi Volleyball

More Tenchi!!

This one was hand painted on acetate with acrylic paint and inked with a Staedtler Lumocolor pen. Half of the colors were air-brushed; because I thought it would save me time and speed up the process. In fact I caused this painting to take longer than it should have, over 100+ hours. Basically it took 4 months to do. The acrylic paint needed to be thinned down with airbrush medium, and this caused the colors to be semi transparent (bad!). I had to apply the same color in the same area 3 to 4 times, to get it opaque enough. Masking the areas was time consuming too. I never did that again

Back to the brush for me. A good learning experience though.
